Needless Things Podcast 214 – Flash Gordon Needless Commentary
Friday May 25, 2018
Friday May 25, 2018
Part of an ongoing series – the Needless Things Irregulars gather in the Phantom Zone to provide their own unique commentary on classic genre films!
1980's Flash Gordon holds a place of esteem in the annals of sci-fi cinema. Not because of Max von Sydow's spectacular portrayal of Ming the Merciless. Not for the electric soundtrack by masters of rock Queen. Not even for the heart-quickening sights of Timothy Dalton in tights and Brian Blessed in leather panties.
No, Flash Gordon is part of an elite group of movies that shaped the very persona of the founder of Needless Things, Dave West. This prestigious group includes such classics as Swamp Thing, Alligator, and Robert Altman's Popeye. These were just a few of the movies available on the broadcast marvel known as HBO during Dave's formative years.
Listen in as for the first time ever and in the company of the irrepressible Mike Gordon and the award-winning Bobby Nash, the Needless Things Irregulars experience FLASH A-AH!
