Part of an ongoing series – the Needless Things Irregulars gather in the Phantom Zone to provide their own unique commentary on classic genre films!
Special guest Award-Winning Bobby Nash joins the Commentary Team for the first-ever Dragon Con-themed Commentary – 1981's Dragonslayer!
Everyone knows that dragons are badass, but for some reason Hollywood has rarely done a good job of capitalizing on their badass-ness. One of the seminal early 80s HBO standards was Matthew Robbins' Dragonslayer, a film set to cash in on the fantasy craze of the day, with a little Mark Hamill-ness thrown in by way of a young Peter MacNicol.
Featuring gorgeous locations and tremendous production design, the film failed to become the blockbuster that had been hoped for and even today hasn't managed to achieve even a cult status. In a tribute to the awesomeness of Dragon Con and of dragons, the Irregulars delve into Dragonslayer and offer up their thoughts as to what, if anything, went wrong.
Listen in as Phantom Troublemaker, Bobby Nash, Arian, and Rad Ranger gather in the Phantom Zone to bear witness to the might of Vermithrax Pejorative, the best-named thing ever!
