The third entry in the Elm Street series set the tone for the future of the franchise, introducing a group of strong, unique kids that audiences would remember for decades, as well as upping the ante on the nightmare visuals and Freddy’s puns.
Many – including our own Dave West – consider this the best of the franchise, or at least a favorite.

Part of an ongoing series – the Needless Things Irregulars gather in the Phantom Zone to provide their own unique commentary on classic genre films! October’s film was chosen via fan poll on the Needless Things Podcast Facebook Group!
Have a happy Halloween, Halloween, Halloween with the Irregulars’ October Commentary for a movie that was once seen with a degree of disdain but that seems to have gained support in the last decade or so – Halloween III: Season of the Witch!
Over three decades ago the creative control behind the Halloween movie franchise decided to leave superstar slasher Michael Myers behind and forge ahead in a new direction. John Carpenter and Debra Hill chose to try a format that would turn any future sequels into more of an anthology of Halloween-themed stories rather than centering around a single character or setting. As a result, we now have this apocalyptic tale of terror!
Listen in as Dave, Arian, Ryan, and Rad Ranger gather together thirty-five years to the day after the original release date to share their thoughts on Season of the Witch!

This special episode of the Needless Things Podcast presents the exploration of Corpsewood Manor, the site of murders that shocked Georgia in the early 1980s. Dave, Ryan Cadaver, and Rad Ranger traveled to Trion, Georgia to examine the once majestic ruins of the ill-fated paradise.
In December of 1982 Dr. Charles L. Scudder and his partner, Joseph Odom were murdered inside their dream home in the remote woods of the Chattahoochee National Forest. The openly gay couple had a reputation for Satanism and homemade drugs, and were despised by some in the local community.

As one of the longest-tenured athletes in WWE, Kane has personified evil many times throughout his career. From long-running feuds with his brother the Undertaker to Inferno Matches to being a masked monster seeking revenge upon those that have wronged him, Kane’s legacy is steeped in the macabre.
Outside of wrestling Kane portrayed one of the latest and biggest in the grand lineage of slashers, Jacob Goodnight in the See No Evil movie franchise!

The Needless Things Irregulars gather in the Phantom Zone to watch Star Trek: Discovery!
Discovery is the newest entry into the mighty Star Trek franchise, and one that CBS is hoping will lure customers to subscribe to their proprietary streaming service. Basically nobody is happy about that, and it's possible that before too much longer CBS isn't going to be happy about it, either. But that's neither here nor there.
In today's episode, the Commentary team is joined by Mike Gordon, Gary Mitchel, and Monica Moniker to watch the premiere episode of Discovery and provide pre- and post-show thoughts.

It’s Rad Ranger’s birthday, so he picked 1995’s Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers: The Movie for September’s Commentary!
There was no bigger children’s franchise in 1995 than the Power Rangers, so obviously Hollywood wanted to capitalize on it with a silver screen adaptation. Featuring a new villain, the cast from the TV show, CGI Zords, and a strangely good soundtrack, Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers: The Movie sits in a weird place between canon and pure Hollywood narrative.
Listen in as Dave, Arian, Ryan, and Rad Ranger’s Girlfriend (no, really!) mock the ever-loving shit out of their pal Rad Ranger! Happy birthday, indeed!
